Bird and frog music
The music of birds and frogs will be in the spotlight on Friday in a Lyceum lecture in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
The speaker will be Lisa Rainsong, a composer and naturalist who teaches at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
She will offer a musician’s insight into common bird songs and frog calls.
The lecture will be at 7 p.m. at the Happy Days Lodge off state Route 303 west of state Route 8 in Boston Heights.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children 3 to 12.
The doors open at 6 p.m.

Do you want to learn how to run in a supportive environment?
Well, Summit Metro Parks has a program for you.
The park district is offering a 10-week program that includes running in the park district’s 5-kilometer race on Mother’s Day in Munroe Falls Metro Park in Munroe Falls.
The group will meet once a week for a group run and discuss different running topics.
This week’s meeting will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Mingo Pavilion at Sand Run Metro Park. That’s off Sand Run Parkway in Sand Run Metro Park in northwest Akron.
Advance sign-up is required. The fee for the entire program is $35 and that includes the 5K run.
